Job Description
Children's Residential Support Worker Location: Bury, BL9 Salary: From £12.50-£13.50ph £60 per sleep-in shift Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Hours: 40 hours per week Shifts: 2 days on 4 days off - 10am to 10am shifts (including sleep in) Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable children and young people? Our client provides therapeutic residential care for children aged 8-18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), including trauma, autism, and attachment challenges. We're looking for compassionate, committed individuals to join the team and become a positive, stable presence in a child's life. Your Responsibilities as Children's Residential Support Worker: Support children with daily routines, emotional regulation, and life skills Build trusting, professional relationships in a safe and structured environment Encourage independence, resilience, and positive behaviour Work collaboratively with professionals, families, and agencies to meet care plan goals Maintain accurate and timely care records, logs, and incident reports Uphold safeguarding policies and promote children's rights and wellbeing Essential for the Children's Support Worker role: A genuine passion for working with children and young people Understanding of safeguarding principles and professional boundaries Willingness to complete all required training Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)Note: Health & Social Care qualifications do not meet this requirement Full UK driving licence Ability to reliably commute or plan to relocate prior to starting Desirable Attributes for the position: At least 1 year of experience in a children's residential care setting Experience supporting children with challenging behaviours, autism, ADHD, or trauma What they can offer you as a Children's Residential Support Worker: From £12.50-£13.50ph £60 per sleep-in shift Funded Level 4 Residential Childcare Diploma and CPD training Clear progression pathways to leadership and therapeutic roles Company pension scheme Casual dress policy and free on-site parking Employee discounts and referral programme Staff recognition and ongoing support Now is the time to join a client who is committed to building a nurturing, trauma-informed environment where young people feel safe, supported, and empowered.
