About The Role UNLOCK YOUR BEST WORK LIFE MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO EVERY LIFE We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to be the one of the first to join our team at HMP Millsike, a Category C men's prison, located in the village of Full Sutton near York HMP Millsike will have an operational capacity of 1500 people who will spend their sentences learning the skills they need to find work on release as part of the government's drive to cut reoffending. The prison site is currently under construction and Practice Plus Group were recently awarded the healthcare contract to begin delivering services in April 2025. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a new healthcare team from the inception of a brand new prison site. Salary This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary of between £33,232 and £40,211 per annum - depending on experience. What you'll be doing As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will Provide outstanding quality based patient centred care to our patients seeking out Ensuring standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard Deliver non-judgemental care within the scope of professional standards Involving anything from the timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost effective prescribing as defined through our unique health in justice medicines policy Inspire excellence by forging strong links within our teams, our partners and stakeholders and providing a service that people can trust, feel safe within and feel proud of. Qualifications required NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD) Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience General GCSE education or equivalent Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
