Quantity Surveyor

Quantity Surveyor Location: Monmouthshire Sector: Civil Engineering & Earthworks Overview Walker & Sloan are proud to be working with a well-established and growing civil engineering contractor based in the Monmouthshire area. We are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic and flexible operational team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an ambitious business with a strong pipeline of long-term work with blue-chip clients across utilities and civil infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Support tendering and cost control within civil engineering and earthworks projects. Attend site visits and help scope works using technical plans and construction details. Monitor contract performance, driving cost-efficiency and value engineering. Manage procurement for subcontractors, plant, and materials. Implement and monitor risk and cost-control measures throughout the project lifecycle. Prepare accurate costings for labour, materials, and timeframes. Handle monthly valuations and detailed cost reporting. Liaise with project teams and stakeholders to ensure commercial success. Ideal Candidate Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent). Proven experience working with NEC and other target or cost-reimbursable contracts. Strong commercial awareness with excellent written and numerical skills. Confident in delivering presentations to internal teams and clients. Solid understanding of construction and engineering principles. Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint). Skilled in AutoCAD, LSS, and other 3D modelling systems. Excellent interpersonal and team collaboration skills. Why Apply?
