Main Duties and Responsibilities Teaching Plan and deliver well-structured music lessons aligned with the institution's curriculum and standards. Assess, monitor, and report on students' progress, adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs. Set challenging expectations to motivate and inspire students, promoting excellent progress and outcomes. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the music curriculum and demonstrate high-quality teaching. Organisation, Strategy, and Development Contribute positively to the school's ethos and wider community activities. Collaborate on curriculum and student development projects to achieve cohesive educational outcomes. Provide cover for colleagues as needed under unforeseen circumstances. Health, Safety, and Discipline Ensure the safety and wellbeing of students. Uphold discipline, managing behaviour effectively to maintain a conducive learning environment. Professional Development Engage in personal and professional development to enhance teaching skills. Participate in the appraisal and development of colleagues when appropriate. Communication and Collaboration Communicate effectively with students, parents, and carers. Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals to enhance educational outcomes. Personal and Professional Conduct Uphold the profession's ethical standards, both within and outside the institution. Adhere to the institution's policies, maintaining high standards of attendance and punctuality. Additional Responsibilities for Upper Pay Scale (UPS) Lead in developing and evaluating school policies and practices. Act as a role model in teaching and learning, significantly contributing to raising student standards. Engage in professional development opportunities and apply learning to improve student outcomes. Provide pastoral care, being attentive to students' mental health and wellbeing. Offer guidance, coaching, and mentoring to other teachers to support their professional growth.
