Role: Senior Commercial Manager Location: United Kingdom (UK Citizenship required) Security Clearance: UK Security Check (SC) Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 (dependent on experience) Work Options: Flexible and hybrid working available Overview A leading defence and security customer of Meritus is seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to lead commercial and contracts management activities on high-value programmes across multiple sectors including Cyber, Maritime, and Aerospace. This role is ideal for someone with a strong commercial background and experience managing complex defence contracts. Key Responsibilities Lead commercial strategy and governance across major programmes. Act as deputy to the Head of Contracts when required. Serve as the primary commercial contact for multi-million-pound contracts throughout the contract lifecycle. Develop and negotiate contracts, including pricing and scope, with careful consideration of risk and reward. Collaborate with internal stakeholders across programmes, finance, business development and supply chain. Provide guidance on high-value and complex proposals and negotiations. Line manage a team of Commercial Officers, focusing on their development and capability growth. Requirements Relevant degree (e.g. Law, Business, Economics). Significant commercial management experience within defence, business, IT, or engineering environments. Proven track record in building strong client relationships. Experience in managing proposals of medium to high complexity and value. Demonstrable leadership and team management experience. Skilled in creating innovative commercial solutions and negotiation strategies. Experience in commercial process development and governance.
