Job Details: Location: Virginia Facility Type : Hospital Start Date: July 21, 2025 LOA: 50 days (with potential for extension) Provider Type Needed: Pediatrician with Genetics focus Schedule: Monday-Sunday, 8 AM - 5 PM Job Responsibilities and Duties: - Diagnose and manage genetic conditions in pediatric patients - Perform genetic testing and clinical evaluations - Conduct and interpret newborn screenings - Evaluate and treat children with metabolic disorders (main focus) - Manage patients with genetic syndromes, congenital anomalies, and chromosomal anomalies - Provide inpatient consultations for genetic and metabolic cases - Handle on-call responsibilities, including newborn screening calls from state lab - Utilize multiple EMR systems including Allscripts, Cerner, and Epic - Collaborate with hospital staff and other specialists - Maintain comprehensive patient records and treatment plans Additional Information: - Expertise in pediatric genetics and metabolic disorders required - Experience with newborn screening interpretation essential - Comfort with both outpatient clinic and inpatient consultant roles - Ability to manage varied call schedules, including weekends - Strong communication skills for patient and family education Call Expectations: - Monday-Friday daytime: Less than 5 calls per workday - Monday-Friday after hours: Approximately 1 call per week - Weekends: 2-4 newborn screening calls from state lab - Typical metabolic inpatient consult load: 0-2 per week Apply now to learn more!
