Interim Governance Professional Social Housing 34 Months | Competitive Day Rate | Hybrid (Northwest-based provider) Are you an experienced Governance professional with a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, Board-level support, and the importance of probity and compliance? This is a rewarding interim assignment with a respected social housing provider, ideal for someone who can bring structure, clarity, and assurance to a busy governance environment. About the Role Were seeking a capable, confident interim to provide oversight and leadership across all core governance activities. Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will work closely with the Board, Committees, and Executive Team, supporting sound decision-making and maintaining the organisations reputation for transparency and accountability. Key responsibilities include: Ensuring adherence to governance rules, regulatory expectations, and codes of conduct Drafting, reviewing and overseeing high-quality Board and Committee minutes that reflect decisions, actions, and rationale accurately Supporting a strong governance environment, promoting ethical conduct, integrity, and probity Managing statutory returns, policies, declarations of interest, and other compliance-related activities Acting as a trusted advisor to Board Members and Execs, providing guidance on governance best practice What You'll Bring Senior-level governance experience in a regulated or public interest sector (social housing desirable) A clear understanding of governance frameworks, Board protocol, and regulatory standards (e.g., RSH, NHF Code of Governance) Strong skills in minute taking, agenda preparation, compliance tracking, and supporting governance processes end-to-end A proactive, discreet, and principled approach you understand the importance of good governance, transparency, and probity Confidence to work autonomously and liaise effectively at all levels, including with regulators Working Pattern Hybrid: Remote with some on-site working in the Northwest Duration: Approximately 34 months Start: ASAP or within short notice period This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your governance expertise in a meaningful setting and support a provider with deep community roots through a pivotal period.
