Job Description

Job Title: Medical Imaging Technologist Profession: Radiologic Technologist Specialty: Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Tuesday-Friday Hours per Shift: 12:30 PM - 11:00 PM Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Registered upon hire required. New York State registration or possess a limited permit to practice in New York upon hire required. Certifications: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certified upon hire required. Must-Have: Epic experience required. Description: Under the direction of the Medical Director and/or Section Head, the manager, and Radiologist, the Medical Imaging Technologist performs technical procedures. The Technologist assists in the clinical evaluation and care of patients. Utilizes specific modalities to create diagnostic images. Provides patients with a safe and positive experience. In radiation-producing modalities, technologists practice and enforce radiation safety measures. Supports teaching and continues learning as technology changes for themselves and others. An Associate degree in Applied Science is required. A diploma in X-Ray is required. Graduates from an approved professional academic imaging program are required. Maintains competent imaging skills in practicing modality. Practices in compliance with hospital and department policies and New York State and accrediting agency standards. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to the age and special characteristics of the patient. Ensures a safe and positive experience for the patient.
