HR Specialist/HR Generalist

Job Description Job Description We are looking for a bilingual HR Specialist/HR Generalist to join our team on a contract basis in Itasca, Illinois. This role will focus on supporting employee relations, ensuring smooth communication with staff, and assisting with shift transitions to the second shift. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and a strong ability to address day-to-day HR inquiries in a detail-oriented manner. (MUST be fluent in Spanish!) Responsibilities: • Provide comprehensive support for employee relations, addressing attendance issues, login assistance, and policy-related questions. • Assist in managing the transition to second-shift operations, ensuring effective communication across teams. • Maintain compliance with organizational policies and procedures while fostering a positive work environment. • Collaborate with employees and management to resolve workplace concerns and improve engagement. • Utilize HR systems, such as Paylocity, to manage administrative tasks and streamline processes. • Support benefit functions and provide guidance to employees on available resources. • Communicate effectively with a diverse workforce, including bilingual Spanish-speaking staff. • Ensure labor relations practices are aligned with company standards and legal requirements. • Contribute to the overall efficiency of HR operations, including contract staffing as needed. • Monitor and report on employee relations trends to recommend proactive solutions. • Must be proficient in both Spanish and English, with strong communication skills. • Proven experience in employee relations and problem-solving within HR functions. • Familiarity with HR systems, including Paylocity, is preferred but not required. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage shift-related transitions. • Strong understanding of compliance and labor relations practices. • Previous experience in staffing or contract roles is advantageous. • Knowledge of benefit functions and HR administrative processes. • Proficiency in tools such as Ceridian is a plus.
