Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Oakville, Ontario. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of financial and accounting tasks, including month-end closing, financial reporting, and managing accounts payable and receivable. This is an excellent opportunity to leverage your expertise in accounting systems and tools like Oracle and Excel.Responsibilities:- Manage month-end close processes, including preparing and reviewing journal entries and financial statements.- Perform reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of accounts and resolve discrepancies as needed.- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing.- Prepare and analyze financial reports to support decision-making and compliance requirements.- Utilize Oracle software and advanced Excel skills to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.- Monitor and maintain the integrity of financial data within the ERP system.- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights to management.- Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.- Collaborate with team members to enhance processes and implement best practices in accounting.- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and organizational policies.- A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field.- Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close processes.- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and reconciliation practices.- Hands-on experience with Oracle software and advanced-level Microsoft Excel skills.- Familiarity with ERP systems and their application in accounting.- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and deadline-driven environment.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
