Medventions Internship Program – Fall 2025 Cohort September – December 2025 Position Title: Medventions Intern (Multiple Openings) – Emergency Medicine Clinical Focus Areas Available: Emergency Medicine OR Interventional Cardiology Build the Future of Health Care from the Frontlines Are you passionate about solving real-world challenges in health care through innovation? The Medventions Internship Program at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre offers aspiring innovators a unique opportunity to work on high-impact medical technology projects embedded within clinical environments. About Medventions Medventions is a high-intensity, hospital-based innovation program hosted by Sunnybrook Research Institute . Over four months, interdisciplinary teams of students and early-career professionals collaborate with leading clinicians, researchers, and industry mentors to identify unmet clinical needs, generate novel ideas, and develop early-stage prototypes that aim to transform patient care. Emergency Medicine Track: Work inside one of Canada’s busiest Emergency Departments to address acute care challenges. This track offers a unique opportunity to innovate on the frontlines of acute care, where seconds matter and impact is immediate. Focus areas include (but are not limited to): Redesigning emergency workflows and communication Improving coordination during trauma and resuscitation support Leveraging AI and decision support tools at the point of care Enhancing triage, monitoring, and patient handoffs Participants will either: Identify new clinical problems through direct observation and clinical immersion, or Work on pre-validated, high-priority clinical needs already identified by Sunnybrook physicians. Program Structure The internship spans three immersive phases : Clinical Immersion & Needs Identification Ideation & Concept Development Prototyping & Early Validation Interns will work in interdisciplinary teams with support from clinical, engineering, and business mentors.
