Job Title: Lecturer - Science (Biology Specialism) Location: Carlisle Start Date: In time for the new academic year Contract Type: Fixed-term - 1 year Working Hours: 22 hours per week Salary: £28,000 - £41,000 per annum (pro rata) About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Lecturer with a specialism in Biology to join our Science team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering an outstanding learning experience for our students. This role involves teaching on the T-Level Laboratory Science programme, with responsibilities including planning and delivering engaging lessons, conducting formative and summative assessments, and maintaining accurate tracking and progress records. There may also be opportunities to teach across various levels and study programmes within the broader Science curriculum. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Biology and Laboratory Science Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback Maintain accurate records of student achievement and development Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and supportive learning environment Contribute to curriculum development where appropriate Requirements A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) A degree in Biology or a closely related science discipline Experience teaching Biology at secondary or further education level Because education matters.
