Business Systems Analyst

Job Description: Insight Global is seeking a skilled Business Systems Analyst to join a large Canadian insurance company on a 6-month contract, with the potential for extension into 2026. This role centers on supporting a server upgrade project involving 27 SQL, file, and application servers; conducting vulnerability assessments to verify post-upgrade functionality; and leading an AI-driven document processing initiative to streamline policy underwriting. The successful candidate will gather and document requirements, lead application testing and validation, coordinate with SMEs to confirm system functionality post-upgrade, and ensure legacy and Java-based web applications operate as expected. They will work closely with stakeholders to ensure seamless transitions from legacy platforms, while maintaining functionality across Java-based web applications and mainframe-integrated systems . Additionally, the BSA will define workflows for AI-based intake processes that analyze incoming business requests via email and attachments. This position requires someone technology-agnostic, well-versed in the software development lifecycle, and experienced in large-scale system transitions/ upgrades. The successful candidate is expected o be on site downtown Calgary two days per week. Required Skills: 5 years’ experience as a Business Systems Analyst, working with Agile methodologies Hands-on experience with upgrade projects and vulnerability testing Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, MS SharePoint, MS Office Suite, and MS Visio Knowledge of Java-based web applications Strong stakeholder communication skills, with experience leading requirement validation and UAT processes Nice to Have: Possess PMP or BSA certifications Exposure to vulnerability assessments and AI automation projects Experience working within a regulatory environment (financial or insurance) Experience with vulnerability sign off
