Projects Control Manager

Job Title: Project Controls Manager (Construction) Location: Amsterdam Reporting to: Project Director / Head of Delivery Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager to lead cost, schedule, risk, and performance monitoring across complex construction projects. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of construction lifecycles, project delivery methodologies, and integrated control systems. You will be a key partner to the Project Manager, ensuring delivery stays on budget, on time, and aligned with client goals. Key Responsibilities Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing refinement of project controls frameworks across cost, schedule, and risk. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or Asta Powerproject . Manage cost control processes including budgeting, forecasting, earned value management (EVM), and cost variance analysis. Track and manage risks, maintain risk registers, and coordinate mitigation plans with stakeholders. Produce regular project performance reports, dashboards, and executive updates covering KPIs, trends, and deviations. Implement robust change control processes, ensuring all variations are logged, assessed, and approved appropriately. Work closely with commercial, planning, and delivery teams to align cost and time performance metrics. Ensure compliance with client and regulatory standards in reporting, governance, and documentation. Support procurement and tender processes by providing planning and cost input to bids and proposals. Required Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Construction Management , Engineering , Project Management , or related discipline. Minimum 8 years experience in project controls within the construction sector (e.g., buildings, infrastructure, civil). Proven experience managing controls for large-scale capital projects (e.g., €50M). Proficiency in planning software: Primavera P6 , MS Project , or equivalent. Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of project controls tools (e.g., CostX , Asta , SAP , Oracle ). Strong understanding of EVM , budgeting, forecasting, and reporting standards (e.g., AACEI, PMI). Familiarity with NEC, FIDIC, or local contract frameworks. Preferred Attributes: Professional certifications (e.g., PMP , AACE CCP , PRINCE2 , or RICS ). Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to lead and coach teams across cost, schedule, and reporting functions. Fluent in English (German/French beneficial for DACH region roles).
