Lead Layout Engineer

In this role you will be responsible for the layout from its creation up to the industrialization. Of course, you make sure to deliver high quality layouts at the right cost level. About the Role What will be your job like as Layout Engineer? Together with designers you specify and agree on the requirements for the PCB layout. It’s your task to come up with layouts that meet these objectives, properly balancing time, quality, performance, accuracy and cost. You collaborate with colleagues from in and outside R&D. Within R&D you cooperate mainly with the electrical designers to come to the best design and layout possible. Outside R&D you work together with production and procurement to industrialize ‘your’ PCBs. You make sure that your layouts comply with the relevant industry standards. Next to that you make sure to keep yourself up-to-date on all relevant developments outside. We also offer plenty of opportunities to further develop yourself. You can grow into roles like designer and team lead. Responsibilities Define planning and priorities of the Layout Team Negotiation/balancing of requirements for lay-out design Generating PCB layouts and documentation Implementation of available technology in the industry within the clients' design environment Component management Validation of assemblies using IPC Value engineering and cost target calculations Designing for manufacturing (DFM) and testability (DFT) Industrialization of designs in global supply chain Benchmarking PCBs in close contact with Procurement Qualifications HBO degree Several years of PCB/PCA design Required Skills Toolset experience, preferably ZUKEN CR8000 Experience with Office tools like Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc. Proficiency in digital, analog and power lay-out design Understanding bare board and assembly manufacturing flows Knowledge of EMC, EMI, SI, PI aspects of printed circuit boards Knowledge of technologies available in the industry like HDI, COB, CSP, Rigid/Flex, Flex design Knowledge of international standards, like IPC Planning management and prioritization skills Affinity with commercial aspects of electronics Team player with analytical, pragmatic, and creative problem-solving abilities Proactive with excellent communication skills in English and Dutch Equal Opportunity Statement We are committed to diversity and inclusivity.
