This a OPERATIONAL SALES MANAGER role is based in The Netherlands (Holland). If you speak fluent MANDARIN and ENGLISH this is a lovely role in which you will join a growing specialist food business that sells high-end Chinese foods into the UK, Europe and Holland There are excellent career opportunities in this expanding sector at the moment and this role will suit someone who is looking for their next step within food services and who has some people management experience . In this role you will “lead-from-the-front “ and nurture and encourage your team to hit their sales targets, whilst also managing a small number of “ crown jewel” clients yourself . TITLE : MANDARIN Operational Sales Manager LOCATION: The Hague area in The Netherlands SECTOR : Food Distribution TEAM: Chinese food flavours WORK STYLE : Office based SALARY: package of c Eu60k ( base of Eu 50,000 performance bonus 2 additional months salary ) LANGUAGES NEEDED : Fluent English & Mandarin (conversational Cantonese and Dutch are useful) ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS : food sector , sales , team management and languages SPONSORSHIP Yes. Sponsorship extension may be provided if you already have a visa RELOCATION PACKAGE OFFERED : No Company details : This is a well-established food import/export business that specialises in importing specialists food products from China and supplies supermarkets and restaurant chains. The company has gone through a recent explosion in growth because of the increased interest in home-cooking that started during Covid. People are now experimenting with new flavours and new dishes and this company has been able to expand strongly to accommodate increasingly sophisticated and international dishes. In this role you will be the link between the high-performing team of 15 ( which includes admin support and also some field-sales people) and will also ensure that customers are receiving the service they require. This role is an ideal stepping stone for someone looking to take their next step in operational work and eventually could lead to a Head of Sales role. Full training will be provided to fast-track your career Duties : strategic oversight, team management, and process optimization within a B2B food import/distribution environment The role : To optimize the performance of the sales team, ensure smooth execution of sales processes, drive data-informed decision-making, and support revenue growth by aligning systems, people, and strategy . 1. Sales Strategy Execution • Translate company sales goals into operational plans. • Monitor performance against KPIs and propose improvements. • Collaborate with the Head of Sales to implement growth initiatives. 2. Team Management • Oversee and coach a team of sales coordinators/administrators and possibly field reps. • Ensure the team is trained, motivated, and working efficiently. • Run daily/weekly sales meetings and support goal tracking. 3. CRM & Systems Oversight • Maintain and optimize the CRM (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot, or an ERP system if used). • Ensure the sales pipeline is accurately managed . • Track leads, opportunities, and conversions . 4. Sales Reporting & Analytics • Generate regular reports on sales metrics, trends, and team performance. • Analyze customer purchase behaviour, seasonal demand, and product performance. • Support demand planning by coordinating with purchasing and warehouse teams . 5. Process Optimization • Improve order processing, lead management, and customer onboarding flows . 6. Cross-functional Collaboration • Work closely with procurement, finance, warehousing, and logistics to ensure customer orders are fulfilled smoothly. • Act as a communication bridge between sales and operations REQUIREMENTS: Fluent Mandarin and English (Cantonese and Dutch would be useful ) Food sector or food distribution experience is a must Experienced in Team Management Able to be located in The Netherlands
