Java Developer

Java Developer | Glasgow (hybrid) | 12-month Contract Global investment bank is looking for an experienced Java Developer to join their Products IT Team in Glasgow. This front-office role supports the global equity swaps business, working on a project to modernise the current trading platform. You will collaborate with a global team to build robust, scalable systems that solve complex problems at the intersectionof finance and technology. Previous banking experience is beneficial but not essential . Java Developer Key Skills & Experience: Strong Java (J2SE), Spring, JUnit, and JMS Proficient in SQL and experience with Sybase or DB2 Unix/Linux scripting and some Perl knowledge Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Understanding of message-based architectures and object-oriented design Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Interest in learning the equity derivatives business Desirable: Experience with database performance tuning Familiarity with equity derivative products Exposure to agile development environments This is a 12-month contract offering hybrid working and a competitive day rate around £500 (inside ir35).
