Job Description

Our challenge We are seeking a highly skilled SAP Data Archiving Specialist to support our data lifecycle management initiatives across large SAP landscapes. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and optimizing archiving solutions that ensure data compliance, improve system performance, and facilitate smooth system migrations and conversions. Responsabilities Utilize TJC ASC software for archiving, configuring tools, and managing archiving processes. Perform data volume analysis across multiple large SAP systems to identify archiving needs. Lead SAP data archiving activities in modules such as PTP, OTC, FICO, SD, and others, understanding their business flows. Execute archiving in ECC systems during system migration or conversion projects. Develop and maintain techno-functional archiving solutions utilizing ABAP, BASIS, and related technologies. Collaborate with various business groups to gather requirements, define scope, and establish archiving strategies. Configure standard and custom archive objects using Archive Link and SARA transactions. Implement SAP ILM solutions, including defining rules and policies, managing retention, and executing archiving strategies. Work with SAP and non-SAP DMS tools like Content Server and IBM CommonStore for content management. Develop and enhance reporting tools for effective retrieval of archived data. Conduct comprehensive testing of archiving processes to ensure integrity and performance. Coordinate with functional teams and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. Define and execute archiving policies and monitor archival jobs to meet business and compliance requirements. Implement ILM scenarios such as Snapshot, Conversion, GDPR compliance, and Retention Management. Address audit requirements and ensure archiving solutions are compliant and well-documented. Manage object-specific policies in ILM, including handling of Company Code, Sales Organization, and Plant level data. Facilitate data blocking and retrieval processes using PBS & AIS tools. Collaborate with third-party archiving tools like OpenText and PBS for enhanced archiving solutions. Drive continuous improvement through learning and adopting new procedures and technologies. Communicate effectively across teams, documenting processes, and ensuring clarity in all engagements. Requirements Proven experience with TJC ASC archiving software and tools. Strong background in SAP data archiving, including modules such as PTP, OTC, FICO, SD, and ECC system migration/ conversion. Hands-on experience configuring SAP archive objects and working with Archive Link, SARA, and SAP ILM functionalities. Technical skills in ABAP, BASIS, and understanding of SAP content management solutions like Content Server and IBM CommonStore. Ability to gather requirements, define scope, and translate business needs into technical archiving solutions. Experience with reporting tools to efficiently access archived data. Knowledge of third-party archiving solutions such as OpenText and PBS. Familiarity with data retention policies, GDPR compliance, and ILM scenarios including snapshots and conversions. Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills with attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Willingness to learn new procedures and adapt to evolving technology landscapes. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
