Bookkeeper and Assistant (Asphalt/ Road Surfacing) (JB5403) Birchacres, Kempton Park R16 000 to R18 000 a month CTC Permanent A dynamic and solutions-focused company operating in the construction and road repair materials sector is looking for a meticulous and hands-on Bookkeeper & Assistant to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling all bookkeeping duties up to trial balance, ensuring financial accuracy, assisting with reconciliations, and supporting the finance department with day-to-day administrative and accounting tasks. This role requires someone who is highly organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple financial functions independently Minimum Requirements: Own vehicle and valid drivers license Tertiary qualification or diploma in Bookkeeping / Accounting / Finance Minimum 35 years of bookkeeping experience (up to trial balance) Proficient in Pastel, Xero, or similar accounting software Solid understanding of VAT, general ledger, and reconciliations Strong Microsoft Excel skills (intermediate to advanced) Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills Duties and Responsibilities: Full-function bookkeeping to trial balance Process accounts payable and receivable Reconcile bank, cashbook, credit card, supplier, and debtor accounts Prepare VAT returns and ensure statutory compliance Maintain general ledger and supporting schedules Capture and maintain financial data with accuracy and efficiency Assist with month-end and year-end financial procedures Liaise with external accountants and auditors as required Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records Provide ad hoc financial and administrative support to the financial manager or director
