Health Safety Environment Advisor

Position: Global QHSSE Advisor – Marine Client: A client of OCRE Offshore Services operating in the international maritime sector. Purpose of the Role: The Global QHSSE Advisor – Marine plays a proactive role in ensuring safe working environments and systems onboard and ashore. This professional supports the client's marine organization by implementing and maintaining best practices in Quality, Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (QHSSE), aligned with international standards. Key Responsibilities: Oversee and improve QHSSE performance for marine operations globally. Promote awareness of QHSSE policies, regulations, codes, and guidelines across all stakeholders. Maintain and develop the company’s integrated management systems, including ROMS-Marine and STAR IPS. Facilitate QHSSE training and ensure shore-based staff meet required competencies. Act as a liaison between shore management and vessel personnel to align safety protocols. Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions. Manage non-conformities, observations, incident reports, and lessons learned. Contribute to implementation and compliance with standards such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISM, and OVMSA. Support certification and inspection programs, and ensure legislative compliance. Provide QHSSE input to supplier and contractor evaluations in collaboration with Procurement. Required Qualifications & Experience: Higher Vocational (Maritime) Education or equivalent. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the maritime industry, including in a QHSSE role. Familiarity with international maritime regulations and industry standards. QHSSE certifications such as NEBOSH or ISO 45001 Lead Auditor are preferred (or willingness to obtain). Strong communication skills and experience in stakeholder engagement. Demonstrated commitment to fostering a strong safety culture.
