About the Role The Project Manager will be a key member of the Energy Planning and Development team, responsible for leading the development of innovative district energy solutions that deliver low and zero carbon energy solutions to new developments, communities and customers. We are seeking a hardworking individual who is passionate about decarbonization and has a desire to play an active role in the transition to clean energy. Duties & Responsibilities of this position include the following: • Manage complex, multi-disciplinary district energy projects with many stakeholders • Manage new opportunities from initial meetings through to project execution • Effectively manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, including engineering, construction, operations, commercial and finance, to develop and advance district energy projects, including working with teams to: o Identify concepts and advance designs for new district energy systems o Establish technical inputs for financial models, including energy, capital, operating and maintenance cost inputs o Develop business cases and proposals and obtain required approvals • Develop project approaches, workplans, schedules and budgets and manage projects accordingly • Manage project risk, including developing and actively managing and reporting on cross-functional project risk registers • Manage permits and approvals processes during project development • Manage and report on project costs and budgets, including accruals, updating project forecasts and trackers, and reviewing and approving invoices • Manage and report on project schedules, including milestone and critical path tracking • Complete regular project reporting, including schedule, budget and risk updates, for various internal and external stakeholders • Manage key stakeholder relationships and communicate and coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and clients • Assess new district energy opportunities and present recommendations to internal decision makers • Write proposals and develop presentations for district energy systems for various internal and external stakeholders, such as developers, governments, universities, and existing building owners in both informal processes and formal RFQ and RFP processes • Lead and support the implementation of project control systems, processes, and tools to ensure effective planning, scheduling, cost control, risk management, and performance monitoring across projects. • Track and communicate project control KPIs to identify trends, highlight variances, and recommend corrective actions as needed Desired Knowledge, Skills & Experience • 6 years of experience in project management and/or project development on large, complex and dynamic projects with multiple stakeholders • Post-secondary education completed in engineering, energy, sustainability, or equivalent • Experience in the thermal energy sector and/or infrastructure an asset • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and maintaining effective engagement between workstreams to ensure coordination, alignment and effective project development • Ability to develop and drive project schedules and budgets • Experience with risk management and ability to identify, prioritize and manage major project risks • Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop and manage client relationships • Experience writing successful proposals and delivering presentations • Ability to understand technical concepts and interrelationships with commercial aspects • Ability to problem solve, adapt and troubleshoot in real time to address issues, update plans and advance projects in a dynamic environment • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines while ensuring project deliverables continue to be met • Demonstrated experience with MS Office software applications (Project/Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Dynamics 365) • Demonstrated experience in Project Management Tools and software using WBS and CBS • Ability to work in a dynamic environment which requires a high level of flexibility and adaptability Enwave is committed to fair and accessible employment practices.
