Job Description

The Conseil scolaire francophone de la Colombie-Britannique (CSF) is a public school board serving over 6,000 students in 47 French-language schools across British Columbia. With more than 1,200 employees, the CSF is one of the largest francophone employers in Western Canada. We are currently hiring a Project Manager to join our Capital Projects Office. This role is responsible for delivering new school construction and infrastructure upgrades across the province. Reporting to the Director of the Projects Office, the Project Manager works closely with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and school leadership to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Responsibilities include: Managing all phases of capital projects: planning, design, construction, and close-out Leading project teams including consultants, contractors, client representatives, and internal staff Developing and managing scopes of work, budgets, schedules, and cash flow forecasts Conducting due diligence on site feasibility, utility access, environmental sensitivity, and related factors Facilitating communication and decision-making among stakeholders Negotiating and resolving issues or claims with vendors Overseeing implementation of contractor and supplier warranties Qualifications: Proven experience managing construction projects valued at $20M or more University degree in engineering, architecture, or a related field Minimum 10 years of progressive experience managing projects of varying size and complexity PMP certification is an asset Strong skills in estimating, scheduling, cost control, financial reporting, and coordination Solid understanding of construction trades, building systems, codes, and regulations Experience in the public sector or within complex organizations is an asset Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required; French is an asset The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, and proactive. Strong financial acumen, conflict resolution abilities, and communication skills are essential. The role requires a balance of independence and teamwork, occasionally under pressure, and within structured policies and procedures.
