Roofer

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a major public sector organisation for a skilled and reliable Roofer to join a dedicated team delivering planned and reactive maintenance services across a large housing portfolio. The Role As part of a multi-skilled maintenance workforce, the successful candidate will carry out a wide range of roofing repairs and replacements across social housing stock, ensuring all work is delivered to the highest safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Conduct roofing inspections, fault diagnosis, repairs, and full replacements as required. Work on flat and pitched roofs, including slating, tiling, felt roofing, and guttering repairs. Ensure all works comply with relevant Health & Safety standards and public sector policies. Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used. Collaborate with other trades as part of multi-discipline teams to deliver efficient and high-quality service. Engage respectfully with tenants and represent the organisation in a professional manner on-site. Essential Criteria A recognised qualification in roofing (e.g., NVQ Level 2 in Roofing Occupations or equivalent). Proven experience working as a roofer, preferably on domestic or social housing projects. Strong knowledge of Health & Safety procedures in construction environments. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills. A full valid driving licence or access to suitable transport is essential due to the nature of the role. Desirable Experience working within a public sector or social housing setting. Familiarity with digital job management systems or mobile work technology.
