Mechanical Engineer - Enclosures

We are currently seeking an experienced Contract Mechanical Design Engineer to support a key client in the design and development of electronic enclosures for high-performance industrial or consumer products. This is a contract role ideally suited to someone with a strong background in mechanical design using PTC Creo and a solid understanding of designing for electronics integration. Key Responsibilities: Lead the mechanical design of electronic enclosures, including sheet metal and injection-moulded plastic components Create 3D models, detailed drawings, and assembly documentation using Creo Collaborate closely with electronics and systems engineers to ensure mechanical and electrical integration Manage design iterations through prototyping, testing, and feedback cycles Ensure all designs meet relevant environmental, thermal, and EMC compliance standards Work within tight timescales to support product delivery milestones Essential Experience: Proven experience designing electronic enclosures for industrial, consumer, automotive, or defence applications Strong proficiency with PTC Creo Good knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes – particularly sheet metal , die-cast , and plastic injection moulding Able to work independently and liaise with cross-functional teams Familiarity with DFM/DFA principles and working with suppliers/manufacturers
