Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and commercially driven Senior Business Development Manager to lead strategic growth initiatives in the electric vehicle (EV) sector. You will play a key role in expanding our market footprint, building strategic partnerships, and driving revenue through B2B and public sector opportunities across fleet, infrastructure, and/or charging solutions. This is a high-impact role ideal for someone with strong commercial acumen, deep industry knowledge, and a passion for the transition to clean transport. Key Responsibilities Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities across the EV value chain (e.g. charging infrastructure, fleet electrification, OEM partnerships, energy services). Build and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders including local authorities, property developers, fleet operators, DNOs, and strategic partners. Drive complex sales cycles from initial engagement through to contract negotiation and close. Work cross-functionally with technical, legal, finance, and operations teams to ensure successful project delivery. Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform commercial strategy. Prepare compelling proposals, investment cases, and presentations for C-level clients and internal stakeholders. Lead or support bids and tenders, including frameworks and government-funded programmes. Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and conferences to build brand presence and generate leads. Track and report on sales KPIs, pipeline development, and performance against targets. Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to a high-performance culture. Requirements Proven track record (3 years) in B2B business development, preferably in EV, renewables, clean tech, or energy infrastructure. Deep understanding of the EV ecosystem including charging technologies, fleet electrification, energy supply, or mobility-as-a-service. Strong network across property, transport, energy, and/or public sector verticals. Excellent commercial and negotiation skills with experience closing high-value, complex deals. Comfortable engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels, including C-suite and government. Experience with CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot) and pipeline reporting. Self-starter with a strategic mindset, results orientation, and ability to work autonomously. Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. Passionate about sustainability and the energy transition.
