Job Description

Location: Swansea Salary: £42,848 - A Civil Service Pension with an employer contribution of 28.97% Contract Type: Permanent Flexible working, Full-time, Job share, Part-time Were looking for a dynamic and technically skilled professional to join our Estates team as a Senior Electrical Maintenance Manager. In this newly created role, you'll lead the assurance of processes and standards related to mechanical and electrical building services. As a key member of the team, you'll support colleagues across a broad range of engineering and technical issues, with a particular focus on managing critical asset risksincluding fire safety systems, water hygiene, asbestos, gas safety, electrical infrastructure, lifts, and ventilation systems. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Preparation of Specifications to advise and inform commercial procurement of services and project delivery via the Contract and other available Commercial Frameworks Reporting against H&S, budget, performance, risks, dependencies, and mitigating actions Acting as a liaison point for the contract provider and professional advisors on new projects when raising commissions / feasibility studies Benefits Being part of our brilliant Civil Service means you will have access to a wide range of fantastic benefits. You will have a proven ability to manage engineering suppliers, deliver services within budget, and provide technical assurance across key asset risks. Resilient and self-motivated, youll thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing priorities while ensuring quality and compliance. Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and project oversight skills are essential, along with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset and leadership experience. You'll lead your team with a positive, pragmatic approachtaking ownership of performance, coaching for development, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, is required.
