Job Description

Job Title: Mammography Technologist Profession: Mammo Tech Specialty: Imaging Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Experience: Minimum 1 year experience as a Radiologic Technologist and 1 year experience in Mammography License: ARRT Mammography and ARRT Radiography Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: Must exhibit excellent communication skills. Ability to function independently and under pressure. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to prioritize effectively. Detail-oriented and capacity to multitask. Understanding of anatomy and pathology related to procedures. Description: Must be flexible with work hours to meet department needs. Must be dependable, accountable, and cooperative. Responsible for providing safe, age-appropriate care to patients. Performs all exams according to department procedures. Has the knowledge and ability to obtain quality diagnostic studies safely. Independently performs a wide variety of technical procedures. Sets up imaging equipment and positions patients for procedures. Maintains minimum requirements for continuing education and equipment. Obtains complete clinical history and assesses for contraindications. Ensures all studies have proper patient identification. Reviews radiographic images for clinically acceptable results. Responds to emergency situations and uses critical thinking skills. Seeks clarification on ambiguous orders when necessary. Assists other technologists in all modalities. Monitors patient conditions and evaluates situations for physician intervention. Verifies patient identifiers and clinician orders before procedures. Ensures patient privacy and comfort. Organizes schedule and priorities to accomplish required activities. Follows physician instructions during procedures. Practices read back and confirm when taking verbal orders. Demonstrates ability to adjust equipment for optimal study quality. Reports equipment malfunctions for timely correction. Cleans and maintains equipment according to policies. Explains exam purpose to patients to minimize anxiety. Ensures patients' questions and concerns are satisfactorily addressed. Participates in orientation and training of employees. Produces acceptable images with a high first-time acceptance rate. Ensures equipment is operational and maintained. Completes all documentation to meet accreditation standards. Restocks supplies and maintains a clean department environment. Transports and assists patients during procedures. Willfully lends knowledge and assistance to others as needed. Maintains individual productivity in line with co-workers. Complies with all relevant policies and standards. Performs other duties as assigned.
