Job Description & Requirements Specialty: CVOR Discipline: RN Start Date: 08/04/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse – CVOR Facility: WellSpan York Hospital Location: 1001 S George St, York, PA 17403 Start Date: 08/04/2025 Contract Duration: 13 weeks Contract Type: Travel Assignment Unit: Cardiac Open Heart Surgery (CVOR) Shift: 3x12s (07:00 AM – 07:00 PM) Must be available for on-call coverage and to stay until patient care is complete as needed. Job Summary: This role is in the CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) at a high-acuity, fast-paced surgical department performing a wide range of open-heart and cardiac surgeries. Candidates must be confident in both circulating and scrub roles for open-heart procedures. Key Procedures Include: Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) Repair Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) MAZE Procedure Mitral Valve Replacement Transaortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) Specialized Equipment & Responsibilities: Use of Cell Saver technology Infection control and radiation safety compliance Universal protocol/time-out procedure adherence Blood product administration and wound management Specimen handling/labeling Laser safety Fire safety and emergency management Minimum Requirements: Experience: 2 years CVOR with open-heart and scrub experience Certifications: BLS (AHA/ARC only) Charting System: EPIC (required) License: Active PA or compact state license (must be in-hand) Travel Experience: Not required Must be comfortable caring for COVID patients Facility is tobacco- and fragrance-free Schedule Requirements: Call: 1–2 days per week with 30-minute response time required Weekends: Every 3rd or 4th weekend (Friday 4:30 PM – Monday 6:00 AM) Pay package can be customized based on your specific needs and preferences.
