Gate & Barrier Service Engineer (Sub-Contract / Freelance) Greater Manchester Area £38 per hour | Weekly Pay | Outside IR35 6-Month Rolling Contract (Likely to Extend to 3 Years) V7 Recruitment is working with a major player in the security systems and access control sector, delivering work on government and blue-chip client sites. We’re looking for skilled Gate and Barrier Engineers to join on a long-term sub-contract basis, with the opportunity to self-manage your workload and operate across multiple sites in Greater Manchester. The Role * Service, maintenance, and repair of gate and barrier systems (FAAC, CAME, BFT, etc.) * Field-based role, travelling from site to site (housing associations & commercial premises) * Working with a mix of government and blue-chip client contracts * High volume of ongoing work with strong contract stability What’s on Offer? * £38 per hour, paid weekly (Fridays) * Outside IR35 * 6-month rolling contract with extensions likely — some engineers already into year 2 * Flexible working – self-managed schedule * Overtime & weekend work available * Real potential for permanent placement if desired What We’re Looking For * Proven experience in servicing and maintaining gate/barrier systems * Familiar with FAAC, CAME, BFT or similar systems * Experience working across commercial and housing sites * DHF and/or ADSA certification preferred * Gate Safe certification desirable * Valid DBS and driving licence essential * INDFS clearance or willingness to obtain it If you're a motivated and experienced gate & barrier engineer looking for long-term, well-paid work with major clients — we’d love to hear from you
