Job Title: Estimator – Fire Protection Location: Harrogate (Hybrid Working) Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 (dependent on experience) Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent Sector: Fire Protection / Construction / Estimating Overview: We're working with a leading Fire Protection contractor who is looking to expand their commercial team with an experienced and detail-driven Estimator. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company with a strong track record in delivering high-quality passive fire protection solutions across commercial, residential, and education & healthcare sectors. As an Estimator, you will play a key role in the tendering and pricing of projects, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness while supporting the company’s continued growth. Key Responsibilities: Review tender documentation and client requirements. Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for fire protection works (e.g., fire stopping, compartmentation, intumescent coatings). Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare. comprehensive cost plans. Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal departments to gather relevant pricing and technical information. Prepare bills of quantities, schedules of rates, and pricing documents. Assist with tender submissions, RFIs, and client presentations where required. Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings as needed. Monitor market trends, material costs, and subcontractor rates. Key Requirements: Proven experience as an Estimator within the Fire Protection or Passive Fire sector. Strong knowledge of fire stopping passive Fire protection and fire Doors. Familiarity with industry standards (FIRAS, BM TRADA, LPCB) and UK fire safety regulations. Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail. Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Conquest, Excel, or similar). Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines
