Job Description

Our client is a long-established, family-owned engineering business based in the Cheshire area, operating since 1946. They are market leaders in the design and manufacture of street furniture, shelters, covered walkways, and playground equipment. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Contracts Technician to join their Contracts Management team, supporting the increasing demand for bespoke "special works projects." This role involves working within an experienced department responsible for overseeing and managing all phases of project delivery. It offers a great opportunity for a motivated individual with strong communication and organisational skills who is looking to develop their career in a dynamic project-based environment. Key Responsibilities: Manage small works contracts, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to company procedures. Interpret and work from technical design drawings. Prepare site-specific Method Statements and Risk Assessments. Ensure all works are compliant with Health & Safety regulations. Monitor project activity, costs, and overall performance. Protect the interests of the business at all times. Collaborate closely with internal teams including design, production/supply chain, and installations to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Liaise directly with clients to ensure their expectations are met and exceeded. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: A valid UK driving licence. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general IT literacy. A solid understanding of Health & Safety practices within the industry. Strong self-motivation and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. The ability to prioritise tasks and maintain a customer-focused approach. Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously. Additional Information: Office-based position with occasional UK-wide site visits required. Working Arrangements: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with flexibility for additional hours when needed. 25 days holiday per year plus 8 bank holidays.
