Buyer – Civil Engineering & Groundworks Location: Redditch Salary: £35,000 – £50,000 (dependent on experience) We are working on behalf of a well-established and reputable civil engineering and groundworks contractor based in Redditch, who are looking to appoint a Buyer to support their growing workload. This is an excellent opportunity for either: An experienced Buyer currently working within construction or groundworks, or Someone working for a builders' merchant or materials supplier who is looking to move “client-side” and join a contractor. Key Responsibilities: Procuring a range of materials specific to groundworks and civil engineering (e.g. drainage, concrete, aggregates, reinforcement, site consumables) Managing supplier relationships and negotiating best value Raising purchase orders and ensuring timely deliveries to multiple sites Supporting site teams and the commercial department with material availability and lead times Identifying opportunities for cost savings and procurement efficiencies Requirements: Previous experience as a Buyer in construction or product knowledge from working with merchants supplying to groundworks/civils contractors Strong understanding of groundworks-related materials Good negotiation and communication skills Organised and commercially aware with attention to detail This is a full-time, permanent role with a successful contractor offering long-term progression and involvement in major residential and commercial developments.
