ML Manager – AI / NLP / LLMs / GenAI / Team Leadership

We are looking for an ML Manager to join an exciting European DeepTech start-up in San Sebastian . They can offer hybrid working ( 3 days on-site) within a commutable distance. They’re a fast-growing AI & quantum computing company develops cutting-edge software that boosts performance & efficiency. You will be someone with a strong focus on NLP & large language models (LLMs). The role involves managing cross-functional teams & steering the development of innovative AI solutions for major global clients across industries like manufacturing, finance, energy, & cybersecurity. As an ML Manager your responsibilities will include: Lead an international team in designing & delivering advanced AI-driven solutions. Set the technical direction for key projects, ensuring strategic alignment & high-quality execution. Oversee project planning & delivery, including defining scope, resources, risks, & milestones. Guide & support the team through proactive leadership & collaboration. Track & improve project performance while maintaining strong stakeholder communication. Contribute to the company’s technology & client strategy through expert insight & coordination with other tech leaders. As an ML Manager your skills will include: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related field 4 years of experience in software engineering, AI, or data science 1 year of project management in a tech environment Strong knowledge of machine learning, NLP, and/or optimization techniques Practical experience with LLMs & Generative AI, including fine-tuning, transfer learning, RAG, & pruning Proficiency in Python, Docker, Git, & GitHub/GitLab workflows Familiarity with Agile methodologies & software development best practices Strong leadership, communication, & stakeholder management skills Fluency in English & Spanish is required Feel free to also refer someone you may know who could be good for the role.
