GENERAL FUNCTION TheLogistics and Customs Manager, Ensure that the operation complies with import and export-related issues and processes. Likewise, one of the most important aspects of the role is to ensure adequate controls are in place to avoid major discrepancies in inventory levels in the areas under your responsibility, as this directly impacts the financial statements of the operation. As a management position, you also need to create strategies around available resources to make the operation more efficient in terms of labor and cost. Major Duties And Responsibilities Manages shipment scheduling and notifies the departments involved or customers of arrival dates. Negotiates with local and foreign transport lines, as well as with insurance agencies and especially customs agencies, and authorizes payments. Supervises the tracking of materials in transit and conducts investigations to determine the cause of damage, shortages, or freight and/or insurance surcharges. Supervises the expediting of imports & exports and maintains up-to-date information on import and export tariffs, licenses, and restrictions imposed by customs authorities in Mexico, the United States, and other countries. Assists in formulating IMMEX programs before the Ministry of Economy and supports the generating mandatory reports for the Ministry of Finance.(SHCP -Mexico). Responsible for the accuracy and compliance of Annex 24, compliance with customs regulations of Mexico, the US, and other countries (Annexes, Legal Provisions, Government Regulations , SAT, Tax Code, etc.). TMEC Application. Maintains the integrity of the Annex 24 system (prices, inventories, downloads, etc.). Prepares and manages the objectives and budgets of his department, as well as validates and authorizes procedures and standard operating procedures (SOP). Responsible for recruiting, training, developing, motivating, and acting as a facilitator for the staff. Responsible for managing the performance of subordinates. Also responsible for promoting and maintaining interdepartmental harmony. Ensures the correct level of inventory, both raw materials and consumables necessary for operations. Responsible for CIVA, OEA, and CTPAT certifications. Responsible for attending and responding to foreign trade audits. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in related field 8 years of experience in Logistics environments with a focus on optimizing processes Expert knowledge of Distribution Operations processes and Warehouse Management Systems capabilities Experience in design, optimization, reengineering processes Projects/Program Management experience Lean & Six Sigma experience Visionary/Strategic minded Ability to challenge status quo and strive for continuous improvement Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex organization with different Pillars Strives in a fast pace environment Able to work in environment with international objectives and matrix relationships in a multinational environment Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Logistics or Supply Chain Lean/Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Knowledge of SAP Warehouse Management Systems (WM-AFS/FMS) Inventory control Industrial safety. Continuous improvement tools. Project management. Teamwork Leadership Applicable CTPAT and AEO standards
