Job Description
Division: Wits Planetary Health Research Main purpose of the job: To manage and coordinate the operational activities of unit and ensuring project effectiveness Location: Parktown, Johannesburg Key performance areas: Development of implementation plans for the delivery of key project activities and outputs Ensure that P2P and EPMV are compliant Monitor budgets for all Wits PHR projects Update budgets as recommended by managements Budget development for new grant applications Work with Legal and Finance to finalise contracts Coordinating and liaising with relevant collaborators, project partners, project beneficiaries and other stakeholders for effective delivery of project activities Overseeing and conducting due diligence on all supplier documents Assist in audits and monitoring visits carried out by regulatory authorities or the sponsor Procurements of equipment and instruments Ensure health and safety procedure are followed Sending monthly reports on progress of projects to the Principal Investigator chairing weekly meetings with the Unit Management Team Attend to all staffing requirements and administration Supervise and manage the duties of subordinate(s) to ensure optimal staff utilisation and maintenance of sound labour relations Perform and facilitate performance development and assessments Identify substandard performance by team members and take necessary corrective action Coach and train subordinate(s) to ensure the acquisition of knowledge and skills required by the organisation Required minimum education and training: Bachelorâs Degree in Commerce, Business Management or Business Science Required minimum work experience: Minimum of 2 yearsâ experience Must have Procurement and Compliance experience Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities: Experience in working with donor funded grants Proven experience in Budgeting, Financial and Grant management reporting An interdisciplinary approach to problem-solving Excellent written and verbal communication skills Coordinating an interdisciplinary team Solid organisational skills including attention to detail Training in project management Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Ability to organise scientific activities TO APPLY: Only if you meet the minimum job requirements and experience as mentioned above, you may submit a detailed updated CV Please Apply Online and complete your registration via our website to enable and protect you as a candidate, and to accept the new POPIA terms and conditions This will then create your permanent profile with which you can apply for all jobs as advertised by AJ PERSONNEL However, you may remove your profile from AJ PERSONNEL when you are no longer in the job market Please take note that the applicants who do not adhere to the above criteria will not be considered for the respective position Wits Health Consortium will only respond to shortlisted candidates Candidates who have not been contacted within two weeks of the closing date can consider their applications to be unsuccessful Closing date: 08 August 2025 Note: No CV will be accepted after the closing date Please note: WHC, in accordance with its Employment Equity goals and plan, will give preference to suitable applicants from designated groups as defined in the Employment Equity Act 55 of 1998 and subsequent amendments thereto AJ Personnel is only responsible for advertising and the response handling on behalf of their client Wits Health Consortium AJ Personnel does not have any salary or other information regarding the position
