Mechanical Project Manager
Job Location
Greater Vancouver, BC, Canada
Job Description
Your New Company A respected, family-owned multi-trade service provider with nearly a century of industry experience is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to join its growing team in Vancouver, BC. Known for delivering high-quality construction, facilities management, and technical solutions across North America, this organization has built a strong reputation for operational excellence and innovation. With a collaborative and forward-thinking culture, this is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional looking to advance their career in the Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) construction sector. Your New Role As the Mechanical Project Manager, you will lead complex mechanical projects from initial planning through to commissioning. These projects will include HVAC systems, plumbing, process piping, and mechanical retrofits. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project performance, including budgeting, scheduling, quality assurance, and subcontractor coordination. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will also play a key role in resource planning, progress tracking, and adapting to evolving project requirements. Success in this role will depend on your ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and trades. You will manage project budgets and timelines, negotiate and administer contracts, supervise union labour and subcontractors, and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining project documentation using Procore, managing material and equipment procurement, and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously. Travel to various project sites will be required. What You’ll Need to Succeed To thrive in this role, you should have a degree in mechanical engineering or a diploma in construction technology, although extensive field experience may be considered in place of formal education. You will bring three to five years of experience in the construction industry, ideally within commercial or institutional projects, along with a solid understanding of mechanical systems and project execution. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential, and experience with JD Edwards or an Oracle-based ERP system would be a strong asset. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills are critical, as is the flexibility to travel as needed. What You’ll Get in Return In return, you will receive a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $105,000 , depending on your qualifications and experience. The total rewards package includes group insurance benefits, a pension plan, an annual performance bonus, and access to career development and training programs. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected organization that values its people and invests in their long-term success.
