VP of Land Development

Job Location

Vancouver, BC, Canada

Job Description

About Our Client: Our client is a global collective of industry-defining companies spanning real estate, consumer goods, technology, hospitality, and philanthropic ventures. Their mission is to create and deploy capital for a better world. Operating across the US, Canada, Europe, and the Caribbean, they build high-impact companies and visionary projects guided by purpose, precision, and entrepreneurial excellence. They are seeking a VP of Land Development to lead the global execution of a bold, multi-phase real estate vision — crafting resilient, high-design retreats in some of the world’s most challenging and awe-inspiring environments. From off-grid helicopter-only sites to coastal luxury destinations, you will oversee end-to-end development across international locations. You’ll build the systems, hire and lead the team, and deliver world-class projects with speed, discipline, and uncompromising quality. This is not a role for the cautious. It's for a high-urgency, execution-driven builder who thrives under pressure, moves fluidly between boardrooms and build sites, and delivers exceptional results in unstructured, high-growth environments. Who You Are: Energized by compressed timelines and high-stakes goals. Deep experience in construction, infrastructure, and development execution — not just oversight. Comfortable turning founder vision into scalable systems and actionable plans. Experienced in managing ultra-high-net-worth stakeholders with poise, clarity, and discretion. Ready to lead teams and projects across diverse geographies with resilience and adaptability. 7–10 years of experience in construction or real estate development, with a background in field operations, PM leadership, and infrastructure-heavy sites Experience managing active job sites with complex logistical, permitting, or utility challenges — such as off-grid or remote access builds Proven ability to oversee multiple concurrent projects with different scopes, contractors, and stakeholder groups Proven track record leading capital projects from design through build, with full ownership of scope, schedule, and execution. Track record of leading both internal teams and external trades with accountability, urgency, and clarity Demonstrated ability to bring order to unstructured or high-growth environments — building systems that scale while keeping execution tight Strong written and verbal communication skills to keep the founder and executive team informed through structured, data-backed reporting Familiarity with collaborative PM tools (Smartsheet, Google Sheets, etc.) and a willingness to implement software systems that improve team performance Responsibilities: Lead design-build execution for remote/off-grid, modular, and coastal real estate developments. Build and manage a team of PMs and specialists across international sites. Oversee all project phases — from scoping and design through permitting, construction, and closeout. Implement systems for budgeting, reporting, vendor accountability, and risk management. Navigate complex permitting, marine logistics, utilities, and infrastructure challenges with confidence. Work directly with UHNW stakeholders to align delivery with elevated lifestyle and investment standards. Travel frequently to project sites across Vancouver, the Caribbean, U.S., and other confidential global locations. Compensation and Benefits: This role offers a competitive salary $180 - $250k BASE, performance-based incentives, and significant opportunities for career growth. Benefits include full medical coverage, paid time off, and participation in the company’s profit-sharing program.
