Job Description We are seeking a skilled and driven Mechanical Project Manager to oversee the planning and execution of commercial mechanical construction projects. You will lead all aspects of the project lifecycle, from pre-construction through to closeout, ensuring budget control, schedule adherence, and quality outcomes. This role offers flexibility with options to work from the Nanaimo office, adopt a hybrid arrangement, or work remotely from Victoria. You will manage a mix of commercial, mixed-use commercial and residential, and tenant improvement (TI) projects. Depending on project scope, you will directly supervise one to two Project Coordinators and collaborate with internal departments, subcontractors, and clients to ensure smooth execution. Key Responsibilities Lead full-cycle mechanical project management, ensuring timelines, budgets, and safety standards are met Supervise and mentor Project Coordinators; assign responsibilities based on project needs Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and documentation Oversee procurement, material tracking, and cost control Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and applicable codes Utilize industry-standard software for scheduling, document control, and financial tracking Required Skills and Qualifications 2 years of Project Management experience in the construction or mechanical contracting industry Commercial project experience required; mixed-use and TI experience is an asset Red Seal Plumbing certification is an asset Sheet metal experience is an asset but not required Proven leadership ability with experience managing teams or project coordinators Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Software & Technical Requirements Procore Jonas Microsoft Office Suite Bluebeam Compensation & Benefits Salary: Competitive, based on experience $105,000-$125,000 Benefits: Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage Retirement: Employer-matched RRSP contributions (2.5%) Car Allowance: Kilometres driven for job sites Career Development: Training and professional growth opportunities within the company How to Apply If you’re a motivated and detail-oriented professional looking to advance your career in a dynamic, growth-focused company, we encourage you to apply for the Mechanical Project Manager position at West Bay Mechanical.
