Job Description
As a CTO in Quantum Computing, you will define, own, and execute the technology vision that supports the company’s mission and product strategy. You will lead and scale a multidisciplinary engineering organization, currently comprising six key departments (Program Management, Architecture, Hardware, FPGA/ASIC, Software, and Quantum Engineering) and ensure technological excellence across all levels. You will act as a strategic partner to the executive team and Board, shaping the long-term product and innovation roadmap. You will inspire, align, and empower technical leaders to meet ambitious milestones while fostering a strong engineering culture grounded in ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning. Responsibilities: Provide visionary and strategic leadership for the technology organization, aligning engineering priorities with company objectives and customer needs. Mentor and manage the department heads of each technical division, supporting leadership growth, alignment, and cross-functional cohesion. Oversee the design and implementation of robust processes for R&D execution, product development, and innovation. Build and scale the organization’s capabilities, ensuring that team structures, systems, and skillsets evolve in line with the company’s rapid growth. Drive the selection and implementation of technology strategies and architectural decisions for high-performance, low-latency hardware-software systems. Shape the company’s IP strategy and technical differentiation within the quantum ecosystem. Collaborate closely with Product, Commercial, and Operations teams to align product delivery, customer success, and strategic partnerships. Define and track key engineering metrics to ensure quality, velocity, and scalability across development programs. Represent the company’s technology vision in key external engagements including partnerships, customer dialogues, and industry forums. Requirements A master’s or PhD degree in engineering, physics, computer science, or a related field. 15 years of experience in high-tech system development—ideally in deep tech domains such as semiconductors, quantum technologies, radar systems, or telecommunications. Proven track record of leading complex engineering teams and scaling technical organizations. Deep understanding of high-speed electronics, embedded systems, real-time control, and hardware/software integration. Excellent strategic thinking with the ability to translate high-level vision into tangible execution plans. Strong interpersonal skills and an inclusive leadership style that fosters innovation, growth, and accountability. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, rapidly evolving environment with shifting priorities and bold goals. Familiarity with emerging technologies and trends in quantum computing and adjacent deep tech fields is a strong advantage.
