Job Title: Court of Protection Paralegal Location: South Manchester (Wilmslow) Salary: Dependent on Experience Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent The Opportunity: An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Legal Assistant or Paralegal to join a highly regarded and ranked Court of Protection team based in South Manchester. This is a full-time, office-based role within a supportive, specialist team known for its expertise in mental capacity, deputyship, and complex health and welfare matters. This role offers hands-on experience in a respected team, ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career within Court of Protection and private client work. Key Responsibilities: Supporting fee earners in the day-to-day running of Court of Protection files. Drafting applications, witness statements, and general correspondence. Preparing and managing case bundles and court documents. Liaising with clients, families, healthcare professionals, the Court of Protection, and the Office of the Public Guardian. Assisting with the administration of deputyships and trusts. Attending meetings and court hearings as required. Ensuring accurate file management, compliance, and record-keeping. Requirements: Previous experience in a Court of Protection team (health and welfare or property and affairs) is highly desirable, though candidates with strong transferrable legal skills will also be considered. Strong communication and client care skills, with the ability to deal sensitively with vulnerable clients and their families High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills. Confident using legal software and Microsoft Office applications. Law degree or relevant legal qualifications (e.g. LPC/SQE) desirable but not essential.
