Job Description
We’re seeking a Contract Manager to provide vital commercial and contractual support across the lifecycle of offshore wind projects. Reporting to the Senior Contract Manager, you will play a key role in advising project teams, leading negotiations for major agreements (PSA, EWA, TSA), and ensuring compliance with UK/EU regulations and corporate policies. This is a permanent role. You’ll primarily work with FIDIC Yellow Book contracts (and their adapted variants), with occasional exposure to LOGIC and other forms. This position requires strong legal acumen, negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate across cultures and departments. Key Responsibilities Contractual Guidance Advise Project Managers on daily commercial and contractual matters aligned with project goals. Interpret contractual obligations, guide on claims, variations, and risk mitigation. Ensure consistency in applying corporate contract principles. Negotiation & Administration Lead negotiation of PSA, EWA, and TSA agreements, securing favorable commercial terms. Draft, review, and manage amendments and variations during project execution. Ensure alignment with legal standards and corporate governance. FIDIC Expertise Apply and adapt FIDIC Yellow Book provisions to specific project needs. Coordinate updates to FIDIC-based templates and integrate technical/legal insights. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on FIDIC adaptation. Risk & Dispute Management Proactively identify contractual risks and support mitigation strategies. Handle claims and disputes, escalating complex cases as necessary. Manage external counsel engagement efficiently. Stakeholder Collaboration Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. Promote cross-cultural understanding and teamwork. Legal Counsel & Budget Oversight Manage engagement and budget for external legal counsel. Ensure strategic use of legal services, focusing on complex issues. Maintain transparent records for audit and cost control. Continuous Improvement Recommend improvements to contract management processes and tools. Report regularly on contract status, risks, and opportunities. Contribute to knowledge-sharing and lessons-learned initiatives. Qualifications & Experience Education Bachelor’s in Law, Business, Quantity Surveying, or related field. Additional qualifications (e.g., RICS, IACCM) are a plus. Experience 3–5 years in contract management, ideally with FIDIC Yellow Book. Experience in renewable energy or infrastructure projects preferred. Strong track record negotiating and administering large-scale agreements. ️ Technical Skills Deep knowledge of FIDIC, LOGIC, and UK/EU contracting standards. Proficiency in contract management software and MS Office. Ability to interpret technical, legal, and financial data effectively. Soft Skills Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive problem-solver.
