Job Description

Assistant Site Manager - Bespoke/ High-End Residential Location: London, NW3 Closing Date: 5th August 2025 Website: www.griggshomes.co.uk PLEASE NOTE: We are seeking candidates with experience in supporting the delivery of bespoke residential projects from start to finish, covering the entire build process, not just fit-out or refurbishment. The ideal candidate will have a background in high-end, bespoke residential builds, rather than mass construction or commercial property experience. About Griggs Griggs is a premier construction company based in Hertfordshire, specialising in luxury residential projects. Known for our unwavering commitment to quality, we craft bespoke homes with meticulous attention to detail. Our collaborative and supportive culture ensures each team member has the resources needed to thrive and succeed. We take pride in our craftsmanship and the strong relationships we build with our clients and partners. The Role We are looking for a proactive and ambitious Assistant Site Manager to support the successful delivery of our high-end construction projects. This is a brilliant opportunity to work alongside seasoned professionals, gaining hands-on experience in the day-to-day operations of site management while contributing to the outstanding build quality that Griggs is known for. Reporting to the Head of Operations and working closely with the Site Manager, you’ll assist in coordinating resources, managing subcontractors, ensuring site safety, and helping to deliver on programme, budget, and quality standards. If you're someone with a passion for learning, a keen eye for detail, and a drive to develop into a future site leader, this could be the perfect next step. Key Responsibilities Support the Site Manager in coordinating site activities to ensure smooth project delivery. Help monitor timelines, budgets, and programme milestones to keep things on track. Assist in managing subcontractors, promoting collaboration, communication, and mutual respect across site teams. Uphold and help enforce rigorous health and safety standards on site. Act as a point of contact for internal teams, consultants, and occasionally clients—helping to maintain clear communication and resolve issues professionally. Contribute to quality control processes, ensuring work meets Griggs’ high standards. Assist with on-site documentation, progress reporting, and general record keeping. Who We’re Looking For We are looking for someone who has: Experience or education in construction (particularly residential or bespoke projects). A basic understanding of construction processes, building regulations, and H&S protocols. A keen interest in developing site leadership and project management skills. Familiarity with construction drawings and site plans (or a willingness to learn quickly). Strong organisational and time-management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. A valid CSCS card and First Aid training (advantageous but not essential). Desirable Experience Working towards or holding a qualification in Construction Management (NVQ, HNC, HND, or degree level). Exposure to luxury, bespoke, or high-value residential projects. An interest in modern construction methods or Building Information Modelling (BIM). Your Attributes Eager to Learn: You’re committed to developing your skills, learning on the job, and always striving to deliver exceptional quality. Team-Driven: You value respectful collaboration and actively support a cohesive and positive site environment. Dependable: You act with integrity and take pride in being a reliable member of the site team. Detail-Oriented: You’re organised, diligent, and capable of juggling multiple priorities. Calm Under Pressure: You thrive in a fast-paced environment and take a flexible, solutions-focused approach. Perks and Benefits Competitive salary and performance-based progression opportunities. 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) and your birthday off. Access to a Virtual GP, healthcare cash plan, and mental health support. Team events, socials, and unforgettable Christmas parties. Ongoing training, mentoring, and investment in your long-term development. How to Apply Excited to build your future with one of the South East’s leading luxury construction firms? Apply now and take your first step towards becoming a site leader of tomorrow. We actively welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. Griggs is an equal opportunities employer, committed to creating an inclusive and respectful workplace. Please, no agencies. Unsolicited CVs will be treated as a generous donation to our talent pool.
