Overview The Assistant Site Manager plays a supporting role in the delivery of construction projects, working under the guidance of a Site Manager or Senior Site Manager. This position suits individuals with a minimum of 2 years' experience on-site and is intended as a developmental step toward a Site Manager role. The role combines hands-on involvement with project administration, with a strong emphasis on health and safety, record-keeping, sub-contractor coordination, and progress reporting. Core Responsibilities Project Start-Up Establish on-site filing systems (both physical and digital) Set up Health & Safety documentation in accordance with the Construction Phase Plan Prepare and maintain project records including subcontractor packages, contact lists, and timelines Assist with implementation of quality control procedures Support the setup and maintenance of the project file on Procore Project Delivery Support Health & Safety duties as outlined in the Company H&S Policy and Construction Phase Plan Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and complete weekly H&S inspections File and monitor subcontractor and internal method statements Assist in coordinating subcontractor attendance and progress against programme Help organise labour, plant, and materials within programme and budget constraints Support setting out duties where required Assist in preparation of client reports and neighbour communication bulletins Contribute to programming updates and track project progress Maintain accurate site records including diaries, marked drawings, photographs, RFIs, CVIs, minutes, and labour logs Support contract administration including issuance of formal notices, letters, and instructions in line with project timelines Adhere to Environmental Management System (EMS) requirements Promote waste minimisation and material reuse Provide administrative support to the Site Manager Project Close-Out Ensure all project documentation is filed and archived appropriately Assist in the preparation of Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals prior to Practical Completion Continue administrative support through project close General Duties Maintain up-to-date professional qualifications and certifications Share project learning and best practices with peers Ensure compliance with Business Management System (BMS) Identify and report areas for process improvement, innovation, or change Undertake any additional responsibilities relevant to the role
