Electrical Project Manager - Design-Build

Job Description Job Description Full-Time | Direct Hire | Salaried 5 to 20% project bonuses We’re seeking a driven Electrical Project Manager to take ownership of complex commercial design-build projects in the San Jose area. In this role, you’ll oversee your own book of business in all phases of electrical construction—from initial design coordination to project delivery—ensuring quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction every step of the way. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands the nuances of electrical design-build delivery, and has the leadership skills to coordinate cross-functional teams on high-value commercial and specialty lab builds. Key Responsibilities · Direct and manage electrical construction efforts on active design-build projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget · Coordinate closely with internal engineers, estimators, and field teams throughout all project stages · Oversee procurement of materials, submittal reviews, and design changes to support job site execution · Maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, and general contractors to promote ongoing business opportunities · Monitor adherence to safety standards, electrical codes (NEC), and project specifications · Lead budgeting, forecasting, and scheduling for assigned electrical scopes · Support commissioning and final turnover documentation to ensure successful project closeout What You’ll Bring · 3-10 years of experience managing commercial design-build electrical projects · Strong command of electrical systems, drawings, and specifications · Hands-on experience with budgeting, scheduling, and cost tracking · Familiarity with relevant California building codes and permitting processes Preferred Background · 5 years of project management experience in electrical contracting · Previous experience on commercial, tenant improvement, or specialty lab projects · Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent industry experience)
