Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 08/25/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Travel RN – Med/Surg with Telemetry – 12H Nights Unit: MedSurg Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) Schedule: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (Fri/Sat nights) First to float to sister units Contract Length: 13 weeks ( Guaranteed Hours: 36/week Charting System: Cerner License to Submit: Yes Trauma Level: Level 1 Certifications Required BLS (AHA) ACLS (AHA) Pre-Screening Requirements Auto-offer after clinical prescreen Minimum 2 years of recent experience (within past 6 months) Must pass: Dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of offer (2 attempts max) Sim Lab on Day 1 of orientation (pass/fail) Unit Details Bed Count: 32 Ratios: 1:4 for both days and nights Patient Types: 80% Surgical, 20% Oncology Includes Ortho (Joint Commission Certified Knee/Hip Program), urological, abdominal (Whipple), women’s surgeries (non-OBGyn) Common Tele Drips: Must be able to titrate down Amiodarone & Cardizem Telemetry: GE Monitors, read by central monitoring tech Charge Nurse: Yes, does not take patients Support Staff: PCTs during day shift 1 PCT or Task RN at night Additional Details Scrub Color: Navy Orientation: 2 floor-specific shifts Phone System: Spectralink phones (with call light connection) IV/RT/Pharmacy Support: No IV team , but SWAT nurse available RT and Pharmacy 24/7 ICU pharmacist support during the day Vents: Not applicable on this unit Hospitalist Coverage: Must call physician (not always on-site) Weekend & Holiday Requirements 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule Nights = Friday/Saturday Must work 1 major and 1 minor holiday during contract Job ID 16864208 About Genie Healthcare Genie Healthcare is one of the fastest growing Nurse Travel Agencies in the USA.
