Your role as Financial Analyst will be in the Financial Planning & Reporting team providing specialist expertise to translate complex financial data into easily accessible information that supports the RSPB delivery of strategy allowing the Senior Leaders, Executive Board, and Council members in their decision making. As Financial Analyst, reporting to the Head of Financial Planning & Reporting, you will be analysing financial data to provide insights and recommendations for making informed business decisions. You will have the skills and financial knowledge to assess past and present financial performance, predict future trends, and support the RSPB to manage their finances effectively. Essential skills, knowledge and experience: Ability to demonstrate the strategic and leadership competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills in a similar role. Highly developed knowledge of the principles, theory and practice of the specialism/discipline as well as an awareness of broader developments relevant to own work area. Well-developed knowledge of systems/services for own specialism/discipline and across other work areas and how they inter-relate. Full understanding of the impact of relevant legislative/industry policies/best practices and procedures relative to the role, and the quality outputs and standards required. Identify trends, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in specialist area of responsibility that may have an impact on the organisation or department to enable appropriate and timely action to be taken. Apply deep knowledge and experience to provide advice/guidance to others or to address significant problems, some of which will be multi-disciplinary in nature, developing innovative solutions and contributing to strategic financial planning. Ensure compliance with current and future work area objectives, service level agreements, regulations and best practices for finance. Shape strategic direction of own area of activity by leading change, planning and organising activities of others and considering the longer-term implications, to support work area objectives. Develop/improve the capability of staff within specialism/discipline, motivating and mentoring staff to meet current and future requirements. Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills, and experience of working with and influencing senior management. Desirable skills, knowledge and experience: Strong analytical skills, utilising MS Office and other such tools e.g. Power Bi. Used to managing large amounts of data in coherent and legible formats. Additional Information: This role can be based remotely but regular travel to The Lodge, Sandy, SG19 2DL will be required.
