Senior Quantity Surveyor

Our client are a well-established main contracting building company with a strong presence across the North West, delivering high-quality construction projects across the commercial, residential, healthcare, and education sectors. Due to sustained growth and a healthy pipeline of secured work, they are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Liverpool-based team. The Role As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial delivery of projects ranging from £1 million to £10 million in value. You will play a key role in managing project finances, mitigating risks, and ensuring profitable outcomes from pre-construction through to final account. Key Responsibilities Manage cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting across multiple projects Lead subcontractor procurement and contract administration Monitor and report on project profitability and cash flow Assess and value variations, claims, and change management Liaise with site teams, project managers, and external stakeholders Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team Ensure compliance with company procedures, contractual obligations, and health & safety standards Looking For Minimum 7 years' experience with a UK main contractor Proven track record of managing building projects up to £10 million Strong knowledge of JCT forms of contract BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying or equivalent Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and construction software (e.g., COINS, Viewpoint) On Offer Competitive salary dependent on experience Car allowance and discretionary annual bonus Supportive leadership and clear career progression Pension scheme and private healthcare 25 days holiday bank holidays A stable, well-financed business with repeat clients and a growing pipeline
