Job Description
Residential Conveyancer – West Sussex Greenway Search are delighted to be exclusively working with a leading law firm based in West Sussex who are seeking to expand to their highly successful Residential Conveyancing team. We are seeking highly skilled and motivated residential conveyancer to become an integral part of their dynamic and expanding team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of residential property law and a proven track record of handling a wide range of property transactions. This role involves providing comprehensive legal advice and services related to residential real estate transactions, ensuring that their clients' interests are effectively represented and protected. Key Responsibilities: Conveyancing: Manage the entire conveyancing process from instruction to completion, including drafting and reviewing contracts, conducting property searches, and liaising with all parties involved (buyers, sellers, lenders, and estate agents). Legal Advice: Provide clear, concise, and practical legal advice to clients on a variety of residential property matters, including sales, purchases, leases, transfers of equity, and re-mortgages. Client Management: Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring a high level of service and client satisfaction. Provide regular updates and communicate effectively to keep clients informed throughout the transaction process. Contract Drafting and Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and other legal documents related to residential property transactions, ensuring all terms and conditions are clearly defined and legally sound. Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence, including title investigations, and identify any potential legal issues or risks associated with the property. Advise clients on the implications of such findings and propose suitable solutions. Regulatory Compliance : Ensure all residential property transactions comply with current laws, regulations, and best practices, including anti-money laundering (AML) regulations and the requirements of the Land Registry. Dispute Resolution: Handle any disputes that arise during the property transaction process, working towards a resolution that is in the best interest of the client. Documentation and Filing : Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all transactions, ensuring that all legal documentation is properly filed and stored within the case management system or in hard copy where required. Continuous Learning: Stay informed about changes in property law and conveyancing practices, and attend relevant training and seminars to maintain and enhance professional knowledge and skills. Qualifications: Qualified solicitor or licensed conveyancer with a current practicing certificate. In-depth knowledge of UK property law, including Land Registry requirements and AML regulations. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously. Proactive, client-focused, and able to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines. Proficient in using legal case management systems and IT tools relevant to the role. Knowledge of leasehold and freehold property matters. Previous experience working in a fast-paced legal environment.
