Job Description Learning Mentor - Secondary School Location: Sutton, South London Start Date: September 2025 Contract: Full-Time | Term Time Only Are you passionate about supporting young people to thrive both academically and emotionally? A caring and inclusive secondary school in Sutton is seeking a dedicated and motivated Learning Mentor to join our pastoral team this September . This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students who may be facing barriers to learning, including social, emotional, or behavioural challenges. Key Responsibilities: Working one-to-one and in small groups with students who need additional support. Helping students improve attendance, motivation, and engagement in learning. Building positive relationships and acting as a trusted role model. Supporting students in overcoming challenges both inside and outside the classroom. Collaborating with teachers, pastoral staff, and external agencies to provide tailored interventions. Ideal Candidate Will Have: Experience working with young people in an educational, youth work, or mentoring capacity. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach. The ability to motivate and inspire students to make positive choices. A genuine passion for student wellbeing and development.
