Job Description Job Description Requires paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study, or an equivalent level of legal training or experience; or an equivalent level of education may be substituted. At least one year of experience in automated litigation support. Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court system, legal research procedures, and legal research resources. Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw. Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems. Role also requires hands-on familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources. Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be very important. Provides legal and technical support to the USAO , requiring knowledge of legal procedures and documentation. Manages litigation case files, identifies deficiencies, and coordinates with investigators to resolve them. Serves as the primary contact for assigned cases, providing updates and procedural guidance. Prepares discovery materials and trial exhibits , organizing evidence and witness testimony aligned with criminal charges. Works closely with attorneys to ensure timely and efficient trial preparation, including use of e-discovery tools and in-court technical support (e.g., exhibit display, duplication, annotation). Maintains accounting and tracking systems for grand jury and trial exhibits, and ensures proper handling and storage of case materials. Performs data entry, report generation, and database management to monitor deadlines and case progress. Handles administrative tasks , including preparing legal documents, managing court and attorney calendars, scheduling, and responding to public inquiries within discretion. Opens, maintains, and closes case files, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established pro bases , monitors deadlines, and manages physical and digital filing systems from case initiation to closure. Performs administrative and automation support , including legal document processing, scheduling court reporters, witnesses, and maintaining calendars for AUSAs.
